Wedding Feature

I found the Wedding Feature in the Spring Issue very helpful, but in all the Weddings I've seen in this County I've never seen the Pro's use any of the equipment used by Mr Ian Pack, please don't take this question the wrong way but does Mr Pack use any of the accesories demonstrated in the feature at a actuall wedding.

Well, Ian doesn't necessarily use them - although his assistant does! ;)

While Ian is getting the shots, his assistant (or me, for this particular Apprentice) is running around with reflectors, sun-swatters and step ladders.

I've seen a fair few wedding photographers use similar kit and quite a few with loupes around their necks; particularly ones who record video footage as well as stills. To be fair though, that's the first time I've ever seen a wedding photographer armed with a mono viewer! I thought those things only existed in museums now! ;)

Yes, read the article myself and to be honest I think all that equipment is more than likely to put someone off even trying to do some wedding shots. I know they are after perfection (and the images were really good) but having been to quite a few weddings over the years, I've neer seen any pro carry all this lot around. I recently did some off the cuff shots for a friend (paid photographer also there) and I had two cameras on the go that was bad enough but did manage to get some really nice images using just natural light. On the plus side though I think it does give an insight into what is out there and that always helps.

Thank you both, the Pro's in Wales obviously don't think such equipment neccisery
