Hi all,

Unfortunately we're once again going to have to put the captcha box back on for a short time while we deal with a persistent spammer.

We know it's annoying (it's annoying for us too!) so we will try to get it sorted asap.

Just out of interest. How are you banning the spammer? What ban triggers are you using?

Out of slightly more interest, how is CAPTCHA going to deter a real live person?

Matt, you know, and I know It won't. but we've already pointed that out to them. There is some mods they can install to check against the stopforumspam database, and project honeypot database. These will help but won't stop everything.

Captcha should be done at the point of registration only, and not once they are in IMO. Otherwise it messes things up for everyone, as it's doing now. Let's face it, if the spammer is human, and they get through the captcha on registration, then they will also get through the captcha in the gallery. :rolleyes:
