Photoshop or Aperture?
Hey everybody,
I'm looking for some advice on which photo editing software to go with. I have a Mac computer so I was originally going to go with aperture. However I've been reading anything and everything I can get my hands on about photography and almost all the guides and tips are shown using photoshop. Is it a better program than Aperture? Thanks for the help! :) |
Arguably, photoshop is the undisputed champion, but it does of course come with a hefty price tag!
If you're a bit more of a beginner, I'd suggest looking at Photoshop's baby brother: Elements The good thing with Elements over Aperture is that there are so many photoshop and elements tutorials on the web (they're often interchangeable) |
I use both; Aperture to store, organise and some basic edits (cloning dust spots etc) and Photoshop for anything slighly more complex.

Just to mix things up, consider Lightroom as well.

I'm an Aperture 3 fan. I use it with a couple of other plugins from Niksoft. An update has just been released and has fixed a few bugs. Did you know you can get Aperture as an app? I think it's about £45.00.

Aperture and Photoshop are 2 different types of application
Lightroom and Aperture are very similar applications they allow you manage your library of photographs across different hard drives drives. You can carry out adjustments to you photos with both apps : Raw adjustments, levels, sharpening and many more . You also have a hole load of presets you can use or make your own .......the only thing you cant do is add another layer for that you need .........Photoshop Itunes is your friend for training there is a podcast for every photo application. Which is best ........... +1 for Aperture David |
