CD Burning Software

Hi - Can anyone recommend some software to burn photos to CDs please. I tried downloading Roxio to no avail. I have Windows XP. Many thanks, Elaine

You should be able to burn a CD from Windows Media Player on your PC.

CD Burning

Thanks - but I have tried this - I can't seem to be able to pick up the images I want on Media Player. It used to be so easy on my old hardrive - I had Roxio (a free version) that was so simple. I tried downloading Roxio (£50!) yesterday but it wouldn;t do it.

Steve is right in that you should be able to simply burn a CD from Windows Media Player. It may help if you create a new folder on your desktop with the images you want to burn, then open the folder and there should be a 'burn' icon at the top. When I use this method (which is most of the time) it takes a while for the CD to format, but it should then automatically burn. Also, look at 'programs' and uninstall the Roxio thingy, as your computer may be reading this and there could be conflicts.

Regards,
Denise

You can try IMGBurn, I use it on Windows at work (do not do Windows at home!) and it is free. You can do copies with it or files or directories.

It depends how much you want to do, but if it is burning the odd cd you can google free burn software and get quite a few. If you want something a bit more solid and useable I would suggest taking a look at Nero. I used the full version of Nero with XP pro, but now use Nero 8 which came with my version of Windows 7 pro. No problems burning cd or dvd with either.

Edit. Here is a free Nero download you can get: http://nero.windownloads.net/?OVRAW=nero%20burn&OVKEY=nero%20burn&OVMTC=standard&OVADID=65052186531&OVKWID=399378817031&OVCAMPGID=790916031&OVADGRPID=25424940419

CDBurnerXP is great, I used to use it before I started using Ashampoo Burning Studio. And it's free.

Isn't CD burning built in to XP?

Just select the files and click "Copy files to CD" Or right click them and use the "Send to (the drive letter of your CD Burner)"

Or use the free version of Nero b=BurnLite 10 found here, http://www.nero.com/eng/downloads-nbl-free.php
