problems uploading photos ....

Hi

I've had a good look around the site and can't find the answer to why I have a great deal of trouble uploading images to my photo page.

9 out of 10 times I fail to upload images - the upload bar never stops moving and I usually give up after 10 mins or so.

Am I missing a trick?

TIA

Paul

No you're not missing a trick, although if you've got any ad blockers or pop-up blockers running that might cause a problem. There were also known issues with this site and Chrome but I believe they've been resolved...

A different problem

I tried to upload a 'portrait' picture, but it shows as a landscape on the site.
The photo was originally taken as landscape and rotated on my laptop. I tried several times, and another shot from the same batch shows the same problem.

What's gone wrong? How can I correct it?

jimmyosram - What file size are you trying to upload? Try cutting the image size down to 1Mb or so by resizing and see if it makes a difference.

Reinardina - How did you rotate the image? In which software? Try opening the image in Elements, doing an "Image - Rotate - 90° Left/Right" and then Resave the Image as a different name and upload this one to the site.

Cheers, Sie

Thanks Sie.

I used my 'old' software (ACDSee) to rotate it, as I have been doing for years. (This is still the software I use most, as I haven't quite got to grips with all aspects of Elements.)

I'll try rotating it in Elements later today, and see if it makes any difference.

Took your advice and it worked. Thanks Sie.
