Lack of interest in Uploaded photos

Hi

Does anybody actualy look at uploaded photos and make comments be they good or bad.
I see no point in uploading photos if nobody looks at them and makes constuctive comments.
I hope this is only because the web site is new and will pick up as time goes by.

Disapointedly Raymondo

Raymondo, there is an issue amongst some of us with uploading photos into the galleries at the moment because of a perceived "rights grab" issue (there's a couple of threads about this already) to be fair to Future they are currently looking into it and hope to have it resolved very shortly but because it is legalese it has to be right....hence most "members" have not uploaded any photos and won't until this issue is resolved and therefore most people are not loading photos into galleries or looking at galleries, don't take it personally there is a CRITIQUE thread if you really want your shot to be commented on....

Thanks for the reply krennon I do understand there could be a rights issue here but I dont think to many pros will be posting photos here it will mainly be amatures with low resolution images trying to improve on tecchmique.
Thanks again
Raymondo

Not a case of whether you're a pro or not, the issue is that as the T&Cs are at the moment, by uploading an image whether it's a high med or low res image is immaterial you are granting FUTURE royalty free ad infinitum perpetual rights to use your image as they see fit, ok they have to ask you first but that is not the point.....and it's got a lot of old DCMAGGERS (me included) backs up as we are seeing it as a rights grab....as I say if you want your images commented on there is a critique thread where you can post your image to receive comments on it....My issue is that i have some images that I could do with some help on but can't post them as they are of a baby and I don't have the parents permission to post a piccy of her baby (not that the mother would mind at all as she's my god -daughter but that is not the point) so I am not willing to post them at present as I don't want future to have any rights over my images in any way shape or form whether I retain copyright or not.
Pro or amateur doesn't come into it merely that us DC Maggers want Future to play fair.....but I digress see the other threads....and as I say Future are dealing with it at the moment so we shall see what they say

Considering this is a phohgraphic site it's really disppointing that so few comments are made. When you whizz through the first few pages only 11 comments have been made on 600 images, and the majority of those have been on Dave Bracher's unique and stunning aircraft photographs.

So there's perhaps a lesson to be learnt, Idon't mean we should all take photographs of aircraft, but to take images that are well worth a look at.

Hi Keith how's the knee? Andrew Brown is fixing up a meet on the 20th Sept at Speakers' Corner, d'you fancy it?

Hi i often leave comments on peoples photo's on a rival website, but even there you dont get mny people leaving comments, they look at them and thats it, i havnt left comments on this site as i dont feel its right as im not uploading any photo's until this rights issue is sorted ( see thread legalise theft). So its just not this site where peeps dont comment, maybe there afriad of a backlash, i've had some where they didnt like my honest opinion, and i'll admit my opinion is not always right lol, but then y ask for it? i try to be constructive, maybe i just see things differently to other people and being colour blind dont help me either lol John. xx
Not a case of whether you're a pro or not... ok they have to ask you first but that is not the point.....
Actually they do not have to ask you - that has been my point over the many posts on the subject (have a look for your self) - by uploading you have met the legal criteria of consideration and have actually therefore provided that agreement - they do not then have to ask again if they can use it, as its already been granted.

**Bows to the paddler** what i said im my own thread legalised theft xx

the only reason i dont comment is the annoying anti bot comment box, i cant even read the things half the time and i dont want to fill in a strange word in a box every time i leave a comment!

Thanks Abers. Six comments so far but after looking at this thread and the legal stuff mentioned I might have to look into removing them. Shame this site is so clunky.
