FREE! Street photography exhibition
Street photography is always a popular genre, so if you're into it try and get to London to see a free exhibition of over 200 images from 59 street photographers at the Museum of London.
The photos range from the 1860s to the modern day so it's a great way to track the history of the genre over the past 150 or so years. There's a few of the early shots in this gallery here: London Street Photography Exhibition It's running until September so you have quite a while to see it - I really hope to be able to see it soon :) Amy |

Went today, and it was absolutely stunning. Real street photography through the ages. When I say real street photography, each image illustrated some thing about the person/s, the places, the activities and the atmosphere of London throughout the time span, not just images of people in the street as we so often see today.
The place was crowded with people of all ages. Two pictures stick in my mind. One a group of people outside a pub in the East End with a character called 'Hooky Harry' and another of a West Indian immigrant from the '50's ironically holding a carrier bag with the name Powell on it. If you are interested in this genre of photography, it's a must visit. I'll definitely be back. |
