How often do you use the videos?
I have issues back to January 2009, and I have yet to actually watch any of the videos. I have used the accompanying articles, but never felt the need to use the video. I was wondering if I am alone or not? Perhaps a version of the mag without the disc that would be cheaper (since it would be less costly to produce)?

I use the vids if there is something that attracts me - I don't necessarily play the whole disc or even every disc (I do dislike the stupid music intro though :D )

I have a draw full of CDs that are gathering dust along with the mags, but there are skills and tips that I would like to know, however the last Digital Camera mag had a great HDR lesson and lead to me purchasing Photomatix Pro.
What I started to do with the mags is pull the lessons and tips pages out and put them into one folder just to save space, you never know when they may come in usefull. I also find the disc that comes with PhotoPlus a pain as you can not open it unless you are on line. Robster |
love the dvd's
:)I find the dvd's great, its one thing reading about something but to have it shown I think is much better also the amount of info to keep in ones head, well it falls out of the back of mine, would not part with my collection. Robster says he/she is having problems running them, try this----CLICK START----CLICK COMPUTER----RIGHT CLICK ON DISC----CLICK EXPLORE----RIGHT CLICK START PC----RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR----ALLOW. works for me, keep me posted

Does nothing for us Mac users. It certainly does nothing if I have to be using one of my Linux boxes and using the GIMP!

I love my collection of photoplus magazines. I purchased my Canon EOS400D just before the magazine came out and had never used a digital SLR before, so I was very lucky to have the magazine to give me help. I have all of them. I find the dvds very useful as I am not too good with following instructions! I use Canons DPP and Zoom browser to edit my photos - would I really find it beneficial to get Photo Elements 7 or 8? Maybe somebody would give me their views?
Thanks, Christine. |

Robster[/QUOTE] You'll be pleased to know that we have just changed our video disc (from Issue 27 onwards). You no longer need to be online to play the videos (all the software to play it is on the disc itself, your browser no longer needs to go off and find the latest Flash player) The introductions have also been updated - so hopefully good news for those who have got bored with the music and animation we have used for the past two years Any comments about the new disks, let me know. Video Discs
I congratulate the PhotoPlus team for being flexible in its offering of teaching styles (pictorial/written & video) to suit the various learning styles of its readers.
My personal learning style suits a practical (video in this case) demonstration followed by the opportunity to put this into practice myself. The ability to download the actual photo being worked on in the demonstration is for me an added bonus; I am then able to use those techniques on my own similar style photos. As a buyer of PhotoPlus only since June this year, if anyone wants to clear out earlier unused/unwanted video discs, I would be more than happy to reimburse postage to take them off your hands. |
I love the videos great to use especially for me as I am self taught on Photoshop 7 and CS and one can learn so much from these great work by the team at Photo plus keep them coming!!
