Knock, knock RADAR TEAM, anyone home?

Radar Team, when will the 'User Control Panel' become apparent in our galleries so we can use it? The lack of it makes them virtually semi-functional

Hi wayned,

We understand that some members would like to see this, and its on our list of ongoing improvements going forward in the long term.

Thanks,

Amy

Amy, our personal 'control panels' are hidden yet accessible from a small dialog box towards the bottom of pages that contain forum threads. I discovered mine there by accident and it seems a most unlikely place for such an important featrure. Not placing it on our gallery home pages initially is a major design oversight. That, combined with the rest of the clumsiness still apparent here makes for an almost dysfunctional site, not what one would expect from an update to the former DCM. Hopefully the team has taken on board members comments and complaints and can distill them into a more useable experience. Paying lip service to us is one thing, putting it out there is another. Until then, renaming the site 'Flying Below The Radar' might be appropriate.

wayned,

That control panel is the forum control panel, it's that section as well as by clicking 'settings' above and does not relate to the gallery.

Thanks,

Amy

Well Amy, it seems to me if its on the team's list of ongoing improvements going forward in the long term, it might be provident to bring it forward as a matter of urgency.
While I have your attention, I strongly suggest that the appearance and functionality of the galleries is given some re-design because they are poorly laid out and difficult to use. This should be of utmost importance on a photography site and I'm somewhat flummoxed as to why they were produced in such an abyssmal manner.

A visit now and then to the galleries to see if anything has altered or improved is a waste of time, because all the complaints that have appeared within the forums have not been addressed. I suggested earlier when in the beta stage, and before it became apparent what posting on the galleries did to your image, that a limit of perhaps one post a day be imposed. This was to try and make people more selective in what they choose to display, and perhaps eliminate vast rafts of family, holiday, pets and little Jmmy in his pram type images.

I've just had a look at the galleries and one photographer has managed to post 37 images on the trot, so it would seem the galleries are still open to multiple postings.

I hasten to add that the 37 images do not fall into the categories I've listed above.

Where are all the comments? Of the first 500 images on the gallery, only two have received a comment. Is this a reflection of the standard of images posted, or the complcated method and hoo-haa that you go through before you can post a comment. I would like to think it's the latter;)
