Olympus mju 410

Hello all,

This question has brought me to this forum, I hope I am in the right place to ask and hello all.

I have a fairly aged mju 410 compact which I still use and love. However, one of the small screws in the lens cover slider has gone missing.

Can anyone tell me where I can source a new one or what size it is likely to be?

Hi Barney, welcome to the forum

Only Olympus would be able to definitively tell you what size the screw is. You could remove another screw and measure it and hunt around online or even take it to a decent PC spares place and see if they've got anything to match it.
It's a pain though, as it's unlikely to be a standard size...

To be honest, I think you're unlikely to find one. Sadly, compacts are very much disposable items (especially ones that are over 6 years old). Olympus might send you one if you bother them enough and they have any left but I really doubt it.

Have you tried a jewelers or a optometrist for a screw for the 410?
I went to a jewelers for one for the memory card door, the optometrist had screws, but the heads were to small, but they said they do carry them.

Just a thought, hope it works out for you.

Apologies, should have posted earlier and let you know result.

Unfortunately it won't help anyone else though, I found a mate with a similar camera but terminal problem so now have a complete set of screws if required.

Thanks for your help folks,

Barney/
