Psst... Check out our new online mag section!
Some of you may have already noticed, but I thought I'd toot the PhotoPlus horn just in case you haven't... Toot toot! We have a new dedicated PhotoPlus blog here on PhotoRadar!
It is a bit quiet over on the blogs at the moment, but over time we're hoping to populate it with additional content that we couldn't fit into the mag, special competitions and polls, extra tutorials on a variety of different software, the fabled PhotoPlus Index and loads more! If you can think of anything you'd particularly like to see covered, feel free to post on this here thread and we'll get on it as soon as possible. Oh, and Digital Camera magazine have a blog too! |
Comments seem to be closed, why?

Hi match14,
We don't yet have a commenting facility for our magazine blogs, but this is being looked into for version 2.0 - better, stronger, faster! ;) In the mean time, feel free to carry on the blog discussion on the forums and create some new topics. It is always good to get people talking. :) |
You know, i've never seen a good article about how to attract, contact and actaully get sponsors for photo trips...how's that for an idea? :)

I am relatively new to photography but I am learning fast. I have just bought a Nissin Di622 speedlite for my Canon 40D. I set it to TTL to try it out indoors and found that on Av mode it selected a 2 sec exposure, which I thought was rather long; When I switch to Auto it set an exposure of just 1/60 sec: both identical settings and shots, both came out ok, histograms similar. When in Av I was shooting in RAW, does this make such a big difference.
I would appreciate any input to this as I am quite confused. This was a thread I posted last night and got some good feed back. I now understand why: The flash calculated for the subject whilst the slow shutter speed calculating for the background. I've never seen this subject covered in the photoplus magazine, even when flash has been covered in detail. I think this needs covering as it is very confusing, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Free Spirit Level
Hi carly, Just been reading entries here and notice that you are offering a free hot shoe spirit level on production of the loose leaf A4 paper that comes with my magazine each month.
Unfortunatly I do not keep this sheet and dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner each month. Is there any other way of confirming my subscription that was taken out last year at the Focus show, and is my intention to continue this coming year? Best regards, and hope to see you at the show.
