pixma pro 9000 mk1 printing on canvas?

Hi folks, has anyone printed on canvas, polyester canvas or canvas textured paper with this printer. If so how were the results and what media was used? The on-screen manual lists canvas among the list of suitable media but later states media should be less than 200 gsm/53 lb. I have not seen any canvas type that light. Canon help desk would not advise if and which i could use! Thank,s

I think somebody at Canon has made a boo-boo in their manual..... even their own canvas is 350gsm and nobody I can find has canvas paper 'less than 200gsm'. I think I'd try a sample pack of paper and see if it works.

Yes i think your right about the canon boo boo regarding the on - screen manual, as the canon paper range i have ranges from 160gm to 245gm for photo paper pro ll.

I just tried Art Paper... It has a "textured" surface, much like a 'blotter', and is Natural White (NOT bright white)... I did a few B&W's through it with no problems what-so-ever. And they look Great. I have not tried color as yet, so I do not know just what it will look like.. I like the Bright White Semi-Gloss for printing any color shots.

Pixma Pro and canvas

I have successfully printed on 35cm x 43cm canvas using the Fine Art "photo rag" setting and customer page size to suit using Breathing Color Chromata White Canvas (matte) 450gsm. It comes on a 43cm wide role and I just cut off 35cm lengths. They print reasonably well, just a little slip on the image but I can trim the edges and end up with great canvas wrap prints with a 28cm x 35cm face.
