You can also download Serif Photoplus Start Edition from the PhotoPlus DVD supplied with issue 44. :) Just click on the Serif tab on the DVD for more information! |
I have to say I have looked at it and it is a very nice piece of software, even the starter edition I am quite tempted to get the full version.
I had an image to work on which required levels adjustment some cloning work which I was able to do really quickly. |
RAW converter
X4 is certainly good software but before buying, ensure your camera is include in the Raw converter - as far as I can tell mine, a 550D, isn't. The solution is to use either DPP to conert or the free Adobe DNG converter.

As a Linux user I use GIMP, stands for "GNU Image Manipulation Program",
and is really very powerful. As an open source software it's legally free, available for Linux, Windows and Apple Mac. There is also a downloadable help/tutorial. Later versions will be coming soon and they too will be free. So why not give it a try, it won't cost thee out. Grahame nbgemini |
Serif Photoplus X4 offer
Just in case the offer stands for those who might still be thinking about downloading the starter version I have received an e-mail offering the full version of PHOTOPLUS X4 at a discounted price of £29.95 for a downloaded version which will include PanoramaPlus X4. Sounds good but what do others think?
