Chat; PICTURE SOUND - W/E competition 16th to 19th Dec 2010
''Feel the Sound'' - Lets feel the wave or vibration as you make your picture really sing out with distinctive / creative Sound! (not digital noise) ;)
Loud or soft, light or heavy; just rock or gently sway into a shot, so that we can hear the sound with our eyes! This weeks challenge is to Produce an action and or atmospheric photograph / image, depicting Sound, in a way that expresses what the sound is really like; whether a full orchestra, tin drum, or a humble Bumble Bee in the garden (for those with the warmer climates) or simply a raging waterfall. Go for a single shot. Or let yourself go with some creative editing; with a composite image (provided all added elements, textures etc., are from photographs taken during the Friday to Sunday time slot). The choice is yours. Above all have fun. As a one off; For those partying or bell ringing etc., on Thursday - you will be pleased to note photographs taken on the 16th are eligible :) RULES ENTRIES Thread PAST WINNERS |

Andy, I was hoping for a quiet run up to xmas, you've just changed that with this theme!!
|
Well there you go - Silence is Golden - Come Feel the Noise - The shot can be quite quiet or crash bang! - The idea being to; use movement (slow shutter perhaps?) , point of view (perspective) and or colour (mono tones if you like)to provide some sense of the physical sound; if that makes sense.
The hardest bit is the choice of subject/s and a bit of trial an error experimentation (unless you are lucky to capture a bird beak wide in song) etc., until you get the shot you feel does the job for you. Hence the additional day to play and perfect your entry. Happy shooting |
Just a quicky - I've just spoken to Paul(jinky). He's out of hospital now after a bit of a delay and taking it easy for the next few weeks - so he'll be waited on hand and foot all over Christmas and should be back with us full on in the new year.
Now what to do for this challenge? |
Good news about Paul.

Cool shot Mark. Would be nice to have seen all the toes and tip of the tail ;) - Long lenses are useful for undisturbed birdie shots :)

Just posted my first ever - light hearted - entry in the W/E Comp. Haven't quite worked out what else is expected now, so I'd better do some homework/reading up. Voting on a different thread, I believe, once there are more pictures.
Can you vote for more than one photograph? Or is that considered 'not done' as only one can be the best? |
