And for those using GIMP, PaintShop, etc?

So, we've got the photoshop forum...what about those more affordable but yet still usable alternatives.

While I tend to use PSP, I do use Paint for a quick paste to image - it's much faster to load and get running than PSP, elements, etc. Just start, paste as new image and save as JPG. Yup, definitely still useful (much like notepad).

Some of us using GIMP are used to being shunned by the mainstream media. So we get on with things, and tend to not really require tutorials. But no doubt the other reply from the powers-that-be will be something like, "help is available elsewhere on the internet".

I tried Gimp for a while before I got PSE7. I didn't know where to start with Gimp and soon gave it up and got PSE7 which does all I need after processing the RAW file through DPP.

p.s. We could do with more advanced tutorials on DPP.

Hi all,

Providing tutorials on other editing programmes is something we're very much considering going forward into the future - if anyone has any specific ideas on what they would like to see covered we're eager to hear them!

More and more DPP tutorials will also become available as time goes by too :)

Thanks,

Amy

How about people contribute to some tutorials?
If they use these programs they must have some handy tricks up thier sleeves?

Good idea Jerry...

Such a good idea in fact that I started a thread a while ago for just that purpose
