DPP tutorials

Re. the reader asking for DPP tutorials. It would be sensible to run a series of them. If Elements, Lightroom Corel and PS etc. are superior, it would be useful to know the strong and weak parts of each package. Evaluation of software is not an easy or short task. A little help would enable concentration on photographs.

Ask and ye shall receive! Our next issue (43/January) has a tutorial and video dedicated to DPP and its new features... and there's more to come in future issues too!

Excellent news Carly.
I shoot RAW to get alleged 'maximum benefits' - but am uncertain how to fully use DPP.
Currently, with PS8 the ACR guides me OK.
Please start at the basic level.

Thanks for the link Forseti, the tutorials look interesting.
Carly I've just picked up issue 43 today and am doing the tutorial this evening.
has there been a DPP V ACR discussion at all?

Not yet, but that's a very good idea for a future issue! We did a Help Me Buy on RAW editing software a very long time ago but it is definitely worth revisiting again, considering all the latest updates.

Ive used the same link and find the tutorials great.
I TRY to get it right in camera.........when I don't succeed I turn to DPP first and then to Adobe PSEL.
I have succeeded in downloading the latest DPP and find the edit suite an improvement.
I am now using DPP more than any other edit suite for darkroom finish.
Salut, Maz:)

I use DPP a lot for quick adjustments and find it as good as Photoshop, in fact I find it easier than ACR because my version only allows one pic at a time, DPP is far easier in this way. never rule it out
