Having just downloaded the Silver Efex Pro trial, I thought it rude not to try it (thanks Karen!). I've always liked this in B&W - but like it even more now :)

I love it. Its got a real sense of the tide and I like the rocky foreground and headland. Glad you like the software :-)

Thanks Karen. Didn't get much sleep last night, too busy downloading and playing with presets and Silver Efex Pro - might have to ask Santa once the trial expires :)

Nice shot Andy and I love the effects, but when you took this shot, did you get an angry man from the British Army shout at you from across the bay with his loud hailer? Only reason I ask is, because where you stood to take this shot is under the cliff is in the area classed as part of the army's live firing range. Didn't you spot the big red sign down on the beach? lol:p

The army let you in at weekends - and sometimes during the week if they're not playing games. Most of this end of the Purbecks is a gunnery range - which keeps the views pretty people free most of the time!

I have seen mountainbikers escorted away in green Land Rovers before...

I'm not worrying, but I was stood on that very beach myself last week taking pictures of the bay and the local tog I was with mentioned that we were being closely watched from the far side of the bay. If we strayed to close to the warning sign this army guy would grab his loud hailer and tell us in no uncertain terms to move back out of harms way. We stayed a good 100 yards short of it and I took this shot.

Only joking, haven't been to Kimmeridge for a while - and it can be quite a honeypot for tog's at the weekend.

The army used to make it a lot easier - when I first moved to the area (late 80's), they used to hoist the red flags and shut the gates across the roads when they were training. Now they leave flags up, gates open and bellow through loudhailers - have to say though, I feel short changed having never been shouted at.

There are some really nice walks across the MoD land with amazing views - just need to time it when they're not on exercise - and don't stray from the path or stand on metal objects ;)
