1. Title why have you got to put in a title, if your answering some one about lighting then it is lighting 2. Putting photo forum Type message go to add pic find you have to get ULR:confused: go to pic  go to FAQ:confused: go to HELP:mad: go to photo answers? you are getting payed for this why are we running a round all web sites, have a box pick from photo page/down load computer To adobe, Packard Bell and BE Broadband we are not looking at your adds as we have to find URLs then get pixxxx off and then go and see if some one is on Facebook. Stop paying them until it is fixed. |
You don't need to put a title in a reply, whichever method (Quick or Advanced) you use.
Putting a picture's URL in the Forum post is fairly standard - the alternative is uploading directly into a message - and I expect PhotoRadar don't want their servers infested with all kinds of junk. So they ask you to post links to pictures, rather than have extra versions. The "Insert Image" dialog could make that easier by having a link to your gallery, but even Flickr wants URLs, even if some Forums give the option of uploading attachments. As for advertising - you don't get a magazine without advertising - that's the way publishing is financed.... without advertising something like Digital Camera Magazine would probably cost about 25 pounds per issue. So why expect a resource like PhotoRadar to be running at a loss - the small income from advertising covers the costs of very few 'staff' to man the site to answer your questions. It's a bit like ITV.... the advertising pays for the product, in this case the running costs of the website. |
Yes you do have to put URL in all sites but when you are navigate from one page to your photos then bring up the photo then find the URL and if you are looking to post more then one go all through it all again it is a bit of an IT mess.
Its like giving some one post code but no house number. You missed the point about the adds if you are doing all that you are not looking at the adds |
Yes, I see what you mean about Ads not often being noticed - we tend to go straight to what we want and just ignore them (though some are linked to external sites and are subject to other delays, making downloading a page slow at times).
There are a couple of areas that could be 'streamlined'.... I quite like the idea of having to make a comment if you're going to 'rate' a picture but it can take a very long time hopping between pages when they take such a long time to load. I did eleven a few days ago and it would have taken me a very long time if I hadn't 'pasted' in a simple comment on each. Still, it's a great resource and it's not like it's costing the user anything - unless "time is money". |
