No Signal Input - check video cable

Can someone please try and help me.
My computer is a Mesh built for Photoshop 8GB etc etc, only 10 months old. A while back, it just kept going off in the middle of things, the screen would show - No Signal Input. I paid out for the little computer man to have a look and he put on Bullguard saying that there were a lot of viruses. Since then it has worked fine.
A week ago it went again, same thing. This time I googled in and decided to buy a new monitor. New monitor installed, all new cables also - it originally came on, went off and now will not come on again. This time it displayed No Input Signal - check video cables.
I would be so grateful if anyone has any ideas.

No input signal suggests a loose cable or connection on the motherboard. Viruses wouldn't affect this. When you attach the cable to the back of your computer, do you have little screws to tighten the cable? If so, then detatch the cable and reconnect and screw-in the little screws. It is also possible that one on the pins inside the connection on the PC has been bent or broken but this is rare. Make sure the other end of the cable is connected correctly to your monitor. Some monitors have a few connectors, so make sure you are using the right one. :D

My son-in-law has set the monitor up. It has had new leads attached, we are in the DVI output don't know if I should have VGA as well though.
The only other thing would be to take the back off and check for a loose card I think, but I am not too happy about doing that as it is still under warranty.

Did your little computer man not check the computer/motherboard? You can add cards or memory without voiding the warranty, so should be OK. Might have to take out the card and reseat it. It's not unusual for a card not to be seated correctly, so hopefully it may sort out your problem. :D

Sounds like a bad or loose video card to me. Since the monitor shows no signal input, that leads me to believe that the old monitor was fine too. Viruses were probably just a coincidence (odds are not actual viruses but spyware and other malware like bot nets and stuff).

May be worth going to video card manufacturers site and downloading the drivers .Often get updated.

Or if you have inbuilt basic graphics driver on motherboard (e.g a basic intel one try using that )

I have both VGA and DVI. Worth having, if one goes down you can use the other till sorted. I upgraded from my inbuilt graphics card recently and the guy who did it for me also installed another DVI socket that came with the card. Of course, when I plugged into the old socket I didn't have any signal. Soon found it though. It might be worth taking the cable out and putting it back again, or checking that nothing is loose inside.

Edit. As for viruses, I can't stress enough to get good protection. I use Kaspersky and I see they have it on offer at the moment. Also get C/Cleaner and run that every now and then. It's free from here if you haven't already got it. http://ccleaner.en.softonic.com/download

Thanks guys, son in law is going to check inside the monitor on Wednesday night for me.
Have my monitor cable attached to the VGA on the monitor.Hubby has just checked the cables and all is secure. Am hoping to phone Mesh up in the morning. Hopefully their shop may be of more use than their support line which took a week to reply.

It definitely sounds like its graphics card related. Most modern cards have two outlets on the back of them. Have you tried swapping the cable over? My dad had a similar problem every time he booted the PC up. Since I suggested he swap the cable over to the other port, he's not had an issue.

Taking the card out and reseating it as others have suggested may be worth a try. Also, make sure that any additional power cables inside the pc are connected to the GFX card. If I remember rightly, mine has two cables powering the card.

The only other thing I can think of, is that your PC is going into power saving mode. Mine sometimes goes into "AiNap" which powers down devices to save energy.

Thanks Amk, have re-checked all cables and they are correct. Am using VGA - VGA.
Tried relentlessly to contact Mesh today without avail - nobody just that orrible music and your call is valuable to us.Have e.mailed them once again.
Popped into PC World and they suggest bringing it in for testing.Seem to think it could be a faulty graphics card but would need to look £70 to look then cost of the card which I could possibly get back if only I could contact Mesh. The computer is only 9 months old.
If we open the cabinet they reckon it completely voids the warranty.
Seem to be stuck between a rock and a hard place..........
