Photographer of the year top photos

The top wildlife and landscape photos in the news section, is it worth me uploading any photos now or have the winners been picked already??? Are those pics guaranteed being shortlisted or being winners of the categories? I was going to upload all mine tonite but dont know what to do now.

These images are not the official short list so yes! :) But be quick as there is not much time left ;).

They are as I understand it, just a few possible choices towards the creation of the short list!

Hi elisfotoz,

Those images are taken from the top user rated/viewed/commented but all of the pictures will be looked at, regardless of whether they've been in this list or not.

Best of luck with the competition!

Best wishes,

Amy

I got no request for a high-resolution copy of any of my photos unlike last year when I got some requests on the last day of submission... does this mean my photos were out of the running? :((

Hi denbote,

The images are not the official shortlist, they are the most viewed/commented/rated by users of the website (not PhotoRadar or Digital Camera staff).

In fact, judging only officially started yesterday, so you won't have been asked for a high-res image yet, so no you're not out of the running.

Best of luck!

Thanks,

Amy

When will the shortlist be announced? Is there any updates on this? I would guess that since judging started on the 16th, emails have been sent to those who was shortlisted because there is a 15 days time frame in which they could send high res photos. So more or less if all emails have been sent already, would the final shortlist announcements be 15 days from the 16th? I am not sure if I am talking sense here.

Where did you read about a 15 day time frame ? I must have missed that bit of info. I recall reading that people receiving a request for a high resolution version have to comply within a time frame of 14 days.

Here's hoping we both get a request, as I am sadly yet to see one!

Just checked email filters and spam boxes too, just in case I have missed seeing one, having been featured in Top Wildlife twenty on here - No such luck - I hope Admin send a PM with said email requests to ensure their emails get through.

Best of luck to all who entered.

Nor me :-(

Hold fire folks!

The judging only started on Wednesday and with 100,000+ photos to get through it takes a while to get to the shortlist stage - so we're a while off that yet, don't panic!

Thanks,

Amy

@beauxreflets - i computed the 15 days from 14 days to respond plus the day they get the email. hahaha. must have been stupid of me.

@amy - no worries, i think people are just anxious to know.
