The dreaded 'Red Cross.' (instead of picture)

Several times today, I have tried to upload a jpg image (right size) but the picture does not show. I get the well known 'red cross in a box.' Am I doing something wrong? Or is the site playing up?

As a check, I tried uploading two pictures that are already on the site; one gave the red cross, the other one loaded normally.

As per usual, I think these latest pictures are my best yet, so I'm (sort of) desperate to get them in before the competition closes.

Please help!

The red X is not normally a fault associated with you doing something wrong. It might be worth checking that the file you're uploading does open on your computer though. I've seen someone do that before...

And is your html <img....> information pointing to the right place on the server (not on your computer).

Back to normal.

Thank you both for coming back to me.

Things are back to normal now, thank goodness, and I uploaded the last pictures of this competition today. My best ever? As I said, I always think my latest ones are better than previous pictures, but these are so 'fresh' that I did not really have the time to sit back and take a proper look.
With the competition coming to its natural end, I did not want to wait any longer for fear of more hiccups.

I can finally try to relax (which is a bit difficult with all my fingers crossed!) and hope for the best.

By the way, I think the problem must have been something to do with the site, as I noticed several 'red crosses' appearing among the new photos over the weekend.

Chris, it's good to see your squirrel among the favoured!

Good luck to all of you!
