Lasers killed my 5D
Well, not my 5D specifically (because I don't have one), but there have been several reports of sensors being fried by the lasers used at festivals, clubs and light shows.
This video actually made me shout 'NOOOOOOOO!' quite loudly. |
i'm suprised i havn't heard more about this
|
I this video recently as well - it's strange that it's only being shouted about on a 5D users forum as I can't imagine this is a 5D specific problem...
|
I suppose you'd have to be recording video at the time (or having some other reason for the mirror-up).... I take it in normal circumstances there's no way for the laser light to get in to the sensor.

I think you're right Geoff - this shouldn't happen unless the mirror is up and you are recording directly into the plane of a laser. Still, l think I'm going to be a little more careful the next time I'm shooting anywhere with a light show!
