Am I missing something?
I have just tried to download Adobe's ACR following the instructions in Issue 37 of Photo Plus and find camera Raw4.6 not 5.5 as stated in the mag for Elemnts 6, am I in a wrong part of the site ?

I don't know what the magazine said as I don't have it.
The latest version of ACR you can run in Elements 6 is v5.5 I would suggest you download it direct from Adobe (link here) and run the installation file. That will ensure that you've got the most up to date version you can possibly have. |
Ooh, I forgot to say...
That download link is for a Windows PC. If you've got a Mac, let me know and I will find you the correct download link. |
Probably a good idea to see if 5.5 supports your camera before downloading. I think I am right in saying that ACR is not always up to date with latest models

Dagwood
ACR is a funny beast... Basically Adobe release new versions of ACR and DNG converter to keep up to date with the latest cameras and their own RAW formats. However, unlike the DNG converter, ACR is a plugin that runs within the Photoshop program. Adobe, in their infinite wisdom, tend to make the latest versions of ACR only compatible with the newest versions of Photoshop (both Elements & CS). Why they choose to do this is a mystery to me... The practical upshot is that older versions of Photoshop can only run the last ACR that was published while they were current (effectively anyway). A complete list of cameras supported by ACR 5.5 is in this pdf file. |
Thank you all
