Panny Lumix GF1

Hi, I'm hoping santa will be good to me this year and buy me a GF1 body.;)

What lenses to go for ?

I'm considering the kit 14-45mm and the 20mm but would another one be useful, maybe the 45-200mm ?:(

Also what add-on flash to choose as a later purchase and a wired remote, is the optional, at cost ,EVF worthwhile ?

Lots of questions but any help or advice is much appreciated.

THX.:D

Hi & welcome to the forums

I would say your lens choice depends on what you're going to be shooting. I'd go for the 14-45 and perhaps the 45-200 if you can afford it. That way you can cover most situations in 2 lenses.

As for accessories, I'd not worry about a flash for now (although it really depends on how much experience you have?). A remote isn't a must have accessory and, personally I wouldn't be interested in the EVF.

Hi,
Many thanks for the reply,
the main reason for the remote is for long exposures using a tripod as I have one on my DSLR Canon 400D kit and it is useful for macro, still life, night shots.

I agree with you on the EVF, but a hotshoe flash i consider to be a worthwhile investment , but which one to go for... or a 3rd party unit ?

I hope to get the 14-45 straight away and the 45-200 seems to be the favourite until any new lenses are avail from Panny, at the affordable level i'm on.

Final thing would a spare battery pack be adviseable as there is only the sreeen to compose etc on & battery charge life might be shorter than expected.

Thanks.
