Really like your images. With you snowy mountain image how did you achieve the blur of the sky? Although not completely new to post editing in photoshop, I'm always intrigued by how this effect is achieved and the method by which it is done. I really like the composition of this shot and feel the immensness of the sky really takes you into the image.

Hi F11, many thanks for viewing and dropping by.. thanks for the comments too..
I'm new into post processing too, what I just did to that image is a small tweak on Levels.. blurry clouds is something I got from the long exposure.

Many thanks for the answer to my question. I don't know why but I've never really thought about a long exposure to get the sky like that. I've read Photoplus magazine for quite a few years now to get lots of pro tips but they always emphasize long exposure to obtain milky sea or water. There's something new you learn everyday. I always assume with a landscape, that it is just compose/shot and eh presto. (Have to change my thinking on this one as of course the clouds move too). Keep up the good work.

Hi F11,
Don't forget to enable the mirror lock-up, put your baby on a strurdy tri-pod, use a remote switch and try, try, try:)
I mean, study with the lights, it all depends on the light of your subject, on how long you gonna expose, set ISO from 100, start with f/9-11, learn from error:D adjust till you are happy:)
Most of that shot are straight from my camera, so goodluck and happy shooting!
Best shot is before sunrise and after sunset.

Dear Jason, yep eveything you said I'll take onboard, I've just bought a remote switch, but never before used mirror lock up although I do a lot of macro shots. (If you look at my pictures under F11 you'll see some). Read all about the early morning and late evening as being the prime time and also I try to use F11 when compoising landscapes. I'll have to experiment with the long shutter speeds when I can concentrate on my own as usually husband or grandsons are in tow and get a little bit fed up with me hanging around. Would you say use a ND filter to enable the longer shutter speeds as I've invested in that and a polarising filter. PS. I usually use Canon Camera and lens.
