Well Done Olympus - GREAT ADVERT

Not an Olympus owner - yet ;)

But thank you very much for your new advert - featuring Kevin Spacey - at last an advert that may get many off the DSLR bandwagon. :D

Well - on reflection maybe not - after all - those addicted to the "big boys and toys" syndrome will find it well nigh impossible to overcome. :p

But personally - I may just go out and buy an Olympus Pen EP2 for Christmas. ;)

Still dreaming of a Leica M7 - especially the "orange limited edition" - but that will need a Lotto win I'm afraid. :(

Mmm - Warehouse Express list body only for £859. As an ex olympus owner I have great respect for their innovation and quality but I don't think this will really get people off the DSLR route. The main advantage seems to be size but I can't really see much else. You could get a pretty small E450 for £500 less. Looks good in a retro way and I'm sure it feels quality. It's that price for a camera that is'nt as flexible as a DSLR. And of course it has an evf and there are those who find that a real stumbling block - however good it may be - yes, i know others love them. As to 'big cameras', it's down to what your main photographic interests are. If I was into travelling or street photography etc. then I doubt I'd have my current set up- probably have one of those tiny Olympus DSLRs. But cameras like this one or compacts are'nt really made for action, birding etc. and you should buy what suits you best.

I've not seen the advert but I saw an article about it in the latest edition of AP. Frankly, I'll watch anything with Kevin Spacey in anyway!

Anything that's good for Olympus is a good thing in my book as I've always been a fan and they're one of the few manufacturers who seem to be pushing technology in a much more interesting and exciting direction.

Same goes for Ricoh with their GXR.
