Flash Guns
Hi
can someone tell me the main difference between the sb600 and sb 900 I have never used a speedlite before and wondered if the 600 would be a good start or what do members think of the Nissin range thanks. |
The main difference is the SB600 can be set to 85ft whilst the SB900 can be set upto 200ft. I have the SB600 and it a great flash and you can reduce the output if required. The SB900 is the best flash money can buy and can do lots of very clever things and even it's software can be user upgraded if or when Nikon release some. It will also do commander mode which the SB600 can't. If you have one of the lastest Nikon cameras with a built-in flash then that could be used as commander and the SB600 as slave. I would discount the Nissin as they wouldn't be as good. :D

Thanks Old Boy I know your Nikon through and though, when you say the sb600 can be set to 85ft this would surely be enough for a beginer I know it depends on what you use it for but for say vehicles or indoor portraits this should be ample?

Hi, I'm a Canon user but before you stone me to death I would recommend you stay with Nikon and buy the best model you can find to take advantage of Nikon's CLS system.
Have a look at Joe McNally's videos on the Nikon (US) website to see examples of the creative lighting system handling difficult lighting situations beautifully. My 2 cents, I'll go back to planet Canon now. ;-) Two Jack Studio |
