Why no reply's in gallery

I am new on hear I have seen lots of great pic's in the gallery' I have put some in myself I am
Just wondering why no one replys to them after members have put pic's up, I feel like I have said
before there is a lot of knowledge on this site it would be nice to see some constructive critism for
the pic's in the gallery some some all of us can learn from the site.

It's very rare for people to leave critique on images in the gallery because you're never quite sure if the person concerned is open to or even seeking critique , my advice to you is to post any images you would like critique on in the Photo Critique section of the forum .

Thanks Mark for your reply, I do think if members did coment in the gallery it would be constructive and should be taken as such.

Thanks Geoff

I couldn't agree more but we have had a few people complain about unsolicited critique on images that they store in what they see as their private gallery , this is by no means the first time this question has come up and after I was pulled up on it I only ever leave positive comments in the gallery's and hold off the critique for the critique section in the forum .

I can see exactly were you are coming from, as I am very new to the dslr stage I have put some pic's into the gallery I will move some tomorrow into the critique section. I will try to hold back the tears if they all get slated.

Not to mention that not many people just browse the gallery because it is not really that friendly.

I think don has hit the nail on the head, I agree with Mark any images you specifically want feed back on then post in the critique section.

Something which has helped me a lot and is great for feedback is to do the weekly competition, the theme is set by the last person to win the competition. The nice thing about it is you get a theme which you may interpret how you wish, take a shot with in the timeframe and after voting has been done people comment on the photo directly above and bellow there entry so you should get at least two lots of feedback.

By taking part you will find yourself scrutinising other peoples shots a bit more and learn some tricks and techniques along the way.

I must admit when I joined I did hold back from joining in but when I did I was glad and I still enjoy taking part most weeks now.

If you are quick you can get an entry in for this weeks as long as the photo is taken before midnight tonight and submitted before midday tommorow.

Certainly worth thinking about;)
