Just joined and taking the leap into DSLR

Hello All

Just wanted to quickly introduce myself and say hi after joining the forum. WIll get a subscription to the magazine in the next few days.

I am a total novice and have never taken a photograph that has not used the "Auto" setting, i.e. pointl, shoot and hope for the best... something that I am wanting to change.

Currently shoot with a Fuji HS20 which is a little small handhold wise for me and besides spends more time with another member of the family. Just saving a couple of pay days more for an upgrade to DSLR (Pentax K5-II).

Also looking at maybe joining the local camera club in the hope that I can also develop this hobby further.

Look forward to chatting with and learning a lot...

Paul

Welcome to the forum. The HS20 does give a lot of SLR type control so if you get get it away from the other family member it is good to learn on.

Welcome.
Hope you enjoy getting stuck into photography, and the site of course. It's a steep learning curve, but by reading, practising and seeking advice from somewhere like this you should see good progress.
Good luck, and enjoy.

Chris
