The Lasso Tool

I have Ps 7 also just got Cs 2, I was looking at the lasso tool and wonderd if there is a
Polygonal lasso tool as I could do with using it.
If it does not some with above software what ps software does it come in.

Have you tried right-clicking on the lasso tool? I'm not sure about PSE but that's where it is in my PSE10. Any of the tools which have a little triangle in the corner have additional tools when you right click. I had PSE6 previously and am pretty sure it was the same.

As beatnik69 said, else hold shilft and press L, and you'll cycle through the lasso tools, including polygonal lasso.

In CS2 just right click the lasso tool and you should see three alternatives Lasso Tool, Polygonal Lasso Tool & Magnetic Lasso Tool

Thanks Harry appreciate the help as you can tell I am new to this I am going through a load of
Disc's I have of the mags doing some of the tutorials on them to try and learn the problem is
they are using a lot newer programs to what I have I only have an old PS 7 and the free download of CS 2 also the download of Gimp but the latter I don't really want to use I think
I would be better sticking to PS and CS 2 as I am planning on getting Elements 11 when I can
Afford it. Some I will probably be asking a lot of Question during this learning curve.

Thanks again to all who are good enough to spare the time to help

Thanks I got it sorted I am just getting a little confused as I am using PS 7 & Elements 2 both are old programs now, I am trying to learn by watching and following the video tutorials that come along with the photography mags, in some they were tell you were to find tools in different programs other times they don't I wish they would as I sometimes get half way through a tutorial and then get stuck because I have not got or can not find the right tool.

Hi Geoff,

I think you have Photoshop 7 and Photoshop CS2 (rather than Elements 2) and were going to look at downloading the trial or purchasing Elements 11 after your holiday.

Most of the magazines use Photoshop Elements which is probably why it's causing confusion. You should be able to follow most of the instructions, but if you don't know where to find a specific tool, this link for the CS2 keyboard shortcuts might help http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/keyboard-shortcut-for-photoshop-cs2-toolsbox/

Thanks for that link Nick I have made myself a copy and now printed it out some I can follow a long what I have found is I have two screens on my pc some I play the dvd via one screen and work on the other screen either on the start image provided or one of my own then if I can't find a certain tool I just pause the dvd until I can catch up.
