Re: Buzard

Beautiful detail in the wings. I've never seen anything like this when I've been out, you did a good job exposing and composing it correctly as I imagine you had to be pretty quick!

Re: Buzard

Karen you have no idea how chuffed I am that you noticed the exposure comp .

I went out to photograph an avenue of trees that used to run from the village church all the way to the old manure house but now just runs as far as a cow field , but as I was checking some angles I saw the Buzzard up in the tree top . The sun was low , bright and directly behind me so I new that if the Buzzard took off it's white feathers would end up blown so after getting a couple of bankers I punched in a hand full of negative comp , luckily the button and dial combination for exposure comp is one of the few combinations I can do without looking .
I think I was more proud of the fact that I had the right settings rather than the actual shot itself although I am proud of that too as it's the only time I've see one of these beautiful birds close up .

Thanks for making my day .

Re: Buzard

Thanks Mark for your very flattering comments , it's one of those rare times I come away from a shoot with that exited school boy air about me like I'm the first person to photograph a Buzzard .
