Soft lighting is everything with a shot like this, and you've really nailed it, but I wonder if the background is a bit too dark. That said, I do like the way the glove disappears in the darkness...

Hey, thanks very much!
The BG was quite a muted green (trees and such like) but because the Owl was sitting so content and almost posing I thought I would treat it as if it was in the studio for a session with a black background.. so just worked the levels until I got my dark background and pulled the Owl back.
