Re: The Red Bridge

Hi, hope you don't mind a comment from a newbie...

I like the vibrancy of the greens of the trees & plants but the red bridge jumps out of the screen at me a bit too much. Did you tweak it with photoshop or is it really like that?

As I said just the naive ramblings of a newbie who's trying to get to grips with creating something worth showing the world.

Re: The Red Bridge

Hi Chris,
The bridge really is bright red! It's a Japanese style garden and they have red bridges. Port Meirion Village, near Portmadog, Gwynedd, is really photogenic with Italianate architecture, gardens and views of the estuary so really worth a visit if you can get.
I normally give all my pics a basic tweak using Elements 10 - slightly brighten, adjust contrast;; lighten shadows; crop and, lastly, sharpen slightly.
It has struck me that a colour blind person would have difficulty distinguishing between the red and green on this pic but changing the colour of the bridge would deflect from the traditional Japanese bridge colour!
Good luck with your photography!
Cheers,
Gill
