So, finally a recent photo. This is one I took on a trip out to Montserrat last month two months ago, well it’s kind of recent!
There were three bushes of some sort outside the villa and they were literally covered in these massive caterpillars. Soon there was only one bush left with any leaves on and so I thought I’d better rush out and try and take some shots of them while they were still around. These little critters were quite aggressive, and when I poked the lens too close they reared up and squirted something all over the camera! Anyway there was no need to rush, after all the leaves were gone they set about demolishing all the new branch growth until there was only new wood left. I would have loved to have seen what these turned into, they were truly HUGE caterpillars.
