OK, so it’s time for a quick reality check here. The A6000 is a couple of generations back from the latest A6500, but it’s still a very powerful and desirable mirrorless camera.
First, it has a top-notch 24-megapixel APS-C sensor capable of very high-quality results. Second, it has a built-in electronic viewfinder, which is highly desirable in any mirrorless camera and unheard of at this price. Third, this is no super-simple beginners camera, but a powerful tool for enthusiasts.
Downsides? Well, the A6000 doesn’t shoot 4K video and it doesn’t have the in-body image stabilisation of the latest A6500 – instead, you need to look out for lenses with stabilisation built in. Otherwise, though, if you want a lot of power for a little money, then you’ve found it!
