Nikon 1 V3: price, specs, release date confirmed
Nikon has launched its first-ever touch-screen interchangeable lens camera. The Nikon 1 V3 price tag will be £799 / €949 with a 10-30mm kit lens from its 17 April release date.
The Nikon V3 joins the Nikon 1 mirrorless camera series and offers a number of new features, such as a 3in, 1037k-dot, tiltable touchscreen LCD – a first for the Nikon 1 range.
Incorporating an 18.4-megapixel CMOS sensor with a sensitivity range of ISO 160 to 12,800, Nikon says the new Nikon 1 V3 performs better in low light and offers improved dynamic range.
Besting even the Nikon D4s announced just weeks ago, the Nikon 1 V3 also offers a 20 frames per second burst mode, and the camera can snap 40 RAW format images at up to 60 fps with focus fixed at the first frame (which Nikon says is faster than a DSLR).

Also on-board the Nikon V3 is a hybrid AF system boasting 171 autofocus points – 105 of which are phase-detection points.
The Nikon 1 V3 release date will be 17 April
Other features of the Nikon 1 V3 include built-in Wi-Fi capability for connecting to a smart device, HD movie recording at 1080/30p or 720/30p and a new EXPEED 4A image processor.
Photographers can also purchase a new optional EVF, the Nikon 1 DF-N1000, and a new GR-N1010 Grip (priced at £250).
