    Unless you’re really hard-pressed for space on your memory card, reviewing and editing your images is best left until they’re on your computer and you can see them at a large size on your monitor.

    Go through every shot, assessing the framing, lighting, colour, focus, depth of field and exposure.

    Anything that doesn’t match the criteria you set at the very outset can be moved to a ‘rejects’ folder.

    Be ruthless at this stage: if you reject all your shots, it really doesn’t matter – you can always go out and shoot again.

    Don’t delete these images, though, as it’s always good to have your ‘mistakes’ available to learn from, and some might even be improved with a little post-processing work – next winter’s project, perhaps?
