Canon EOS 1200D: price, specs, release date confirmed
There is a new addition to the family of Canon EOS cameras, the 18-megapixel Canon EOS 1200D. The Canon 1200D price tag will be £349.99/€419.99 body only, with a release date set for March 2014.
The Canon EOS 1200D is Canon’s newest entry-level DSLR and boasts an 18-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and Canon’s DIGIC 4 processor, along with a 9-point AF system.
Among the Canon 1200D’s signature features is a new EOS Companion smartphone app that provides a range of tutorials and step-by-step exercises for photographers to practice at their own pace. Included int the EOS Companion app is an ‘Inspire’ section that suggests combinations of popular subjects and instructions on how to shoot them.
The Canon 1200D’s EOS Companion app also features a troubleshooting guide with tips on how to avoid some of the common pitfalls and mistakes many photographers make.
Other key features of the Canon EOS 1200D are full HD video recording (1080p) and a Video Snapshot mode that allows you to record a series of short video clips and automatically join them together in-camera.
The Canon 1200D video mode also allows photographers control over the exposure, focus and sound levels.
On the back of the Canon EOS 1200D is a 3in LCD screen with 460k-dot resolution, and photographers also have a choice of five in-camera Creative Filters on the Canon 1200D, such as Miniature effect, Fish-eye and Toy camera.
