Canon EOS 70D Specs
Along with its Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology, the Canon EOS 70D also boasts a 14-bit DIGIC 5+ processor and 19-piont all cross-type AF System.
The Canon EOS 70D offers a native ISO range of ISO 100 to 12,800, which is expandable to ISO 25,600.
Also on board the new Canon camera is a 3in, 1,040k-dot Vari-angle Clear View LCD II Touch screen, which is designed to support a series of ‘touch’ options, such as swiping and pinch-zooming, to make navigating menus and amending settings easier.
For those who prefer to compose via the viewfinder, the EOS 70D incorporates an Intelligent Viewfinder with 98% frame coverage and 0.95x magnification.
Finally, the Canon EOS 70D is capable of capturing full resolution images at up to 7 frames per second, with up to 65 JPEG or 16 raw format images in a single burst.
Canon EOS 70D Wi-Fi
The Canon EOS 70D is also the latest EOS camera to feature integrated Wi-Fi, allowing photographers to share images immediately to social media or cloud storage platforms such as Canon’s free Project1709 beta.
The EOS 70D Wi-Fi feature also allows you to control the camera remotely using an EOS Remote app. This allows photographers to control a range of image settings, such as exposure and ISO, as well as focus and release the shutter. Photographers can also remotely use Live View mode, as well as review and rate their images.
The Canon EOS 70D is capable of recording full HD (1920 x 1080p) resolution video with a choice of selectable frame rates, including 30, 25 or 24fps, and 60 and 50fps at 720p. Photographers also have a range of compression options for post-editing and sharing.
The new Canon camera’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF, Movie Servo AF mode tracks subjects as they move, or even as shots are recomposed, Canon says. Alternatively, users can select different focus areas over 80 per cent of the frame by tapping the touch-screen.
An internal microphone enables stereo sound, or photographers scan enhance audio with the in-built external microphone input terminal.
