    Photoshop CC Key Features: 8. Camera Raw filter

    It’s long been possible to harness the power of Camera Raw with JPEG images, by opening them as if they were RAW files. Now, Camera Raw is built in as a filter.

    This means we can use adjustments such as the excellent Clarity feature to strengthen without damaging them.

    The fact that Camera Raw now works as a filter means it’s possible to apply it to individual layers, or even to selections within a layer.

    And as well as all the regular Raw features, there are new ones specific to this version: an Auto Straighten filter, which seeks out horizontal or vertical elements in an image and attempts to square them up; and new ways of working with the spot healing tools, which can now be brushed on as a regular selection.
