    Raw Processing Tips: 04 Highlights and Shadows

    Raw files contain more detail than you might think.

    The Highlights and Shadows sliders are useful for recovering detail in blown-out highlights or deep shadows.

    Here the sky initially looks washed out and lacking in detail.

    By setting Highlights -53 we can recover that detail and give the sky more impact.

    Similarly, we can reveal more detail in the water by dragging Shadows to +56.
