Christmas Card Photo Ideas: simple seasonal still life photography at home
Lighting your Christmas still life photography
If you are shooting during the day you can use window light for your still life photography.
The good news for this time of year is that the light from a window on an overcast day is perfect because it’s nice and soft and there are no harsh shadows.
Alternatively, you can use an ordinary desk lamp to light the scene with a reflector (a piece of white card works well) on the opposite side to bounce some light back into the shadows.
Another option that works well is to use a torch to paint light over your subject during a long exposure.
