New Nikon cameras to be displayed at Focus on Imaging

Nikon has been ranked 20th on a new list of ‘cool brands’ in the UK, according to a new survey.

The CoolBrands list is an annual survey of consumers and industry insiders to find out which companies and brands are the UK’s most popular and fashionable.

For the first time, Nikon cracked the list, coming in at number 20. Now in its 11th year, Nikon was one of the year’s big climbers displacing brands like Ferrari, Chanel and Maserati – which have now fallen out of the Top 20. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Apple tops the list, followed by YouTube, Aston Martin, Twitter and Google.

In total, technology companies like Nikon made up 45% of the list’s top 20.

The full top 20 list is as follows:

1. Apple
2. YouTube
3. Aston Martin
4. Twitter
5. Google
6. BBC iPlayer
7. Glastonbury Festival
8. Virgin Atlantic
9. Bang & Olufsen
10: Liberty
11. Sony
12. Bose
13. Häagen-Dazs
14. Selfridges
15. Ben & Jerry’s
16. Mercedes-Benz
17. Vogue
18. Skype
19. Nike
20. Nikon

Other photograph brands to crack the 80-strong final list were Sony (at number 11), Instamatic and Lomography.
