    Posing tips for pictures of older people: environmental portraits

    Environment portraits can also make for striking pictures of older people and help dispel some of the stereotypes about older people, as well.

    This craftsman is busy at work, which allowed me the opportunity to capture a natural portrait of him in his element.

    I love the natural window light; however, to achieve this image I had to shoot at a high ISO and wide aperture (learn when to increase your ISO and the different types of noise).

    It also required a steady hand to compensate for the slow shutter speed (see our quick tips for how to hold a camera steady when you don’t have a tripod).
