    Julia Margaret Cameron was one of the first famous female photographers and one of the first true celebrity portrait and beauty photographers. Even though her photographic career spanned only eleven years (she only got her first camera at the age of 48!), she has influenced many modern photographers. She’s also a great example that it’s never too late to try something new!

    Martin Parr is a documentary photographer and photojournalist. He became famous for his work documenting every-day suburban life in England. His photography deliberately captures the ‘uglier’ side of every day life with its focus on gritty realism. He has been described as ‘the chronicler of our age’.

    With a name like Mick Rock how can you avoid a rock and roll lifestyle? Rock is famous for photographing the likes of Queen, David Bowie, Iggy Popp, The Sex Pistols, Thin Lizzy, Motley Crue, Blondie, and more. In fact, he has often been referred to as ‘The Man Who Shot the Seventies’. With a title like that you know you’ve forged a career to be proud of.

    Rock continues to shoot famous musicians and in 2006 received the Diesel U Music Legends Award for his contribution to Music.

    Nick Knight

    Nick Knight has become one of the most influential and sought-after fashion photographers in the world. He published his first photo book ‘Skinheads’ in 1982 while he was still a student, which caught the attention of i-D magazine, who commissioned him to take a series of 100 portrait photographs. After this, he shot to fame when he was commissioned to photograph the 1986 catalogue of Japanese designer Yoji Yamamoto.

    From then on his career continued to skyrocket, working for high-profile clients including Audi, Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Levi Strauss, Mercedes-Benz, Swarovski, and Yves Saint Laurent among others.
